I am a graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in Criminal Justice. Following Alabama, I graduated from Ohio Northern University School of Law with a Juris Doctorate.  I have been licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court and Third Circuit Court of Appeals since 1997. 

 

During my 25 years of practicing law I’ve handled almost every type legal case.  However, I’ve spent most of my career focused on being a trial attorney primarily in criminal law.  To that end, I have tried to jury verdict over 100 felony one or felony two cases spanning multiple counties throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Federal Court.  I am certified by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court as capital case (death penalty) qualified.  As the former District Attorney of Lawrence County, I have spent significant time as both a prosecutor and a defense attorney having handled thousands of criminal cases ranging from traffic fines to the death penalty.   

My skills as a trial attorney have given me a significant advantage in handling family law and personal injury cases, as these cases are won or lost in the courtroom by the ability of the attorney to properly present evidence and articulate their argument.  Additionally, I have personally been through a divorce and custody and know what the non-legal challenges my clients face on a daily basis.
